Aromas do Côa
Some places reveal themselves first through scent.
In the Douro Superior, before the vines even wake, the air fills with the scent of rockrose, wild lavender, wildflowers and almond blossom. Our name was born from that richness of aromas, as singular as it is unforgettable.
Scent is the purest way to keep a memory. It stays as time passes and carries us back to places we thought we had forgotten. That is what we want to offer in every bottle: not just a wine, but the living memory of a land.
We believe true luxury comes not from display but from origin: from respect for nature and the patience to wait for the right moment. No artifice. No excess. Only the truth of the place it comes from.
Our roots
The land gives back only to those who respect it.
Our story begins long before the first bottle. It is a family story, of generations bound to the land and to rural life, and of a love of winegrowing handed down from grandparents to parents, and from parents to children.
From our grandparents and parents we learned what work, sacrifice, resilience, humility and perseverance truly mean. We received these values as a legacy, and they still guide every decision we make.

We have invested and grown steadily, in the heart of the Douro Superior, in the municipality of Vila Nova de Foz Côa.

2022
From the office to the vineyard.
For years we devoted ourselves to growing grapes, carrying on the legacy we had received. But a dream was waiting: to turn the fruit of our land into wine, with its own identity and the family's name.
That dream took shape through one of our sons. A solicitor by profession, he never stopped feeling that his roots were in the land. One day he traded the security of an office for the uncertainty of a dream, and came back to the vineyards where he grew up and to what his grandparents had taught him.
In 2022, with the release of our first red wine, the Aromas do Côa brand was born.

The passion of someone who lives the vineyard, knows every plot, every bunch and every harvest, and believes a great wine begins long before it reaches the cellar.
From our soil to the bottle
We want the grape to speak.
We make all our wines ourselves, in our own cellar, from our own grapes only: white and red varieties, chosen and tended by the family with the greatest care.
We favour traditional, hand-crafted methods, close attention at every stage and minimal intervention, so that each wine expresses the place it comes from and the hands that work it.
Our symbol
The invisible elements of every wine.
Inspired by the structure of an atom, our symbol stands for the union of the quiet forces that make each wine unique. They cannot be measured, yet they are present in every decision, every harvest and every bottle.
